Andrew's Star Wars Birthday ! I of course had great time making Light Saber cupcakes and researchng the Death Star cake. The final procuct not only looked great but tasted delicious. My Only boy is almost a young man, 14 years old is closer to the end of childhood than it is the beginning, but I look forward to the next 4 years as he enters high school and begins the process of growing into a Man. We are so proud of him, he made the honor role this trimester and is really enjoying school again.

A hard for me but an even tougher one for some friends. There is a very sweet older couple in our church who's son took his life last week. The scenerio took me right back to the moment I learned of my own Brother's death. I was caught in the intensity of it all and overwhelmed for their family, but more so for his wife and daughter. Death is never easy for those of left behind, but when it is suicide the questions and wondering of our soul seem unsoothed in the moment even by the peace that we know that God can bring us.  Our Pastor did an amazing job of honoring this man's life and I know that He has been so held in prayer daily. the funeral was Monday, and I was glad to be available to help. I know there is a very long journey ahead for this family, as even now 14+ months into ours I can still get caught off guard some times.

So this is Addysen and 'Addysen', she got her for Christmas and  takes her every where. And even dug through her closet the other day to find a perfect match to her dolls clothes. I even had to take her braids out so that her fluffy hair could match right down to the bow. My girly girl!

I took this from a friend who got it from another blog that I have used before, just thought the New year is already slipping by me and wanted to share where I am. Outside my window ... thick gloomy fog with the shadows of a Hops feild looming in the distance. I am thinking ... quieting my words and attitudes. I am thankful ... a small group that has such great insight into God's word and sufferings. From the learning room ... completeing the pre-k and moving onto Kindergarten and some Spanish. From the kitchen ... The sweet smell of a Mocha latte, and the thooughts of a Pot roast for dinner - Yummo. I am hoping ... to take better care of the temple that God has entrusted me too.
