Civil War Re-enactment

I was lucky enough to catch a friend's facebook comment about a really cool day happening in Selah. the PTO there had brought a group of people to set up camp and give educational tours to all that came. the even  did a show of a battle scene with the Cavalary and shoot out and sabre fights. It was very nice. We have wanted to catch one of the larger shows at Ft. Stevens, Oregon - they put on a show every Labor Day Weekend.

Planning the back yard

We have been in the house a year now and actually have neighbors on both sides. One of our Nieghbors has a dog, no big their life, their pet except for when one said pet uses our yard to - well you know! So as we are trying to grow our grass and keep our sod alive we are now more than ever interested in a fence. Oh yes and I would also like to put pavers beyond our slab of a back porsch and the Hubby is talking about a Pergola awning. Did I mention yet that I would love a garden, something in the range of 4' by 16' bed to work in easy enough. Oh I almost forgot, it is not the yard but gutters are really looking neccessary as of now. We do not want 2 foot icicles again this winter due to poor run off. So let's think about this - fence, garden, pergola, paver, and gutters. Wow taking a a second mortgage only one year into this seems a bit unreal - so home depot here we come with high hopes of saving on doing it ourselves. Have I mentioned we are first time homebuyers -...

The way I see it

So the way I see it, we 'bloggers' as the term now goes, do this for many different purposes; I do it to journal in a way and voice my opinion, but I also do it to show that the every day does matter. I have not been doing this very long, nearly 2 1/2 years I think, I would have to check my side bar later. But in the time I have taken to be doing this thing called blogging I have mainly done it for myself. I have been able to see the journey that Our LORD had taken me through in  the last 17 months. the ups, downs and twisty turns of it all. I have been a daughter and sister for 38 years, wife for 15 1/2 years, mother for 14 1/2, and Born Again - Jesus following Christian for just about 14 years. And yet the 'thing' that I have been for least amount of time is what make me who I am in this very minute, the wife, mommy, daughter and sister that I am now. In my walk I have learned one essestial truth, I am nothing with out Christ!!! There has not been a  day in t...

Car Seat Safety

Car seat safety :  One of my pet peaves in life is people not treating their children's safety in the car as a priority. Buckle them up and do it right!!! There is reason the new seats are 5 point harness to 60 pounds, we drive faster, futher and more often now than in the 70's. Seriously consider checking all your seats this weekend!!! Also consider the exact state law requirements and those when traveling. I know that Oregon's, Washington's and North Carolina's (all places we travel regularly)  have different laws. 8 Biggest Car Seat Mistakes APX Alarm http://www.apxalarmblog.com/2010/8-biggest-car-seat-mistakes/ Are you part of the 80% of Americans who are using child-safety seats incorrectly?
