My 12 things

So I have been working on my list for  12 things I want to 'LEARN" to do in the next year of course the 'challenge' started with the month of August and that has just 1 week to go so we will move on  and begin a new with September. September  - Complete my Home Management Notebook - I am very  TYPE "A" and have been living a little too crazy the last year and half (due to life beyond my control) but with god's lending me a hand every day to do so; and have managed to find resourses that fit my idea of a smoothly run home and I am putting them in a notebook (picuters to follow). October -Calendar a months worth of meals based on our schedule and stick to it, so that I can plan the budget according to cost of the meals. Sure glad I paid attention in accounting, I see a spread sheet coming. November - Make a Advent calendar for next month to bring Christ to the center of Christmas!!! December - Make a Birthday calendar of all (husband's ...

Simplicity Is ....

I picked up a new Linky @ Home Keeper's Journal and  here is the fill in section of  daily thoughts. Simplicity means ….  taking the smarter route and doing it right the first time. I could probably simplify my kitchen by … .  reorganizing the freezer and canned goods, it has been a while.   My life needs simplifying in these areas …. my bill paying system, the 'chore' chart for my kids (actually need to make one) I tend to go overboard with .. or, I can’t seem to find a balance with… my wanting to be healthier and my willingness to get up and do it, life would be simpler if I were healthier. My favorite simple dinner is …. BBq chicken, rice and corn. My spiritual life needs simplifying especially in this area ... the order in which I am reading, I tend to hop all around and maybe I need to do a chronilogical reading. I am hoping to simplify my life as i know it by being more intentional.

fun filled weekend

We had company over the week end. My sister brought my mom back home from vacation and her two kiddos cam as well.  Addysen and Donovan had a blast playing in the sprinklers and just hanging outside together. I loved the look of their shadows against the fence and made them play there for a few minutes while I captured their silohettes. Jillane has gotten to be such a big girl and talks and signs for most everything she wants. She is adorable and warmed up much better this time around. We have not seen them since Mother's day weekend. We also had a friend little Lily over for the weekend and  she and the girls got along well. I am more than ever secure in our choice ot not add to our family though. With the 4 of them under five this weekend it was just about more than I was up to luckily Emma is practicing her babysitting skills and took on most of the Lily duties. At dinner Addysen ate off her monkey plate and it was quite a distraction to the little ones, as th...

Here is my newest organization tool, I love calanders and this one is a chalk board as well. I even found chalk pens and love them. Not to mention that it matches my actual chalk board on the other side of the desk. My little chef Emma made lunch all on her own the other day, taco salad, yummo!!!
