Some of My Favorite places

I have always enjoyed the zoo, I grew up going to the Portland Zoo, now the Oregon Zoo. The Bears have always been one of my favorite exhibits, this was taken in 2007, I am thinking that Andrew is much closer to the height of the bear behind Emma by now.

This was taken at sunset on the beach at Fort Stevens Park, in Oregon. I love the silohette of the wrecked ship just coming out of the water.

This was taken at the walk up pier at the tip of the Oregon coast line, where the Columbia meets the Pacific Ocean.
Another Place I love to hang out is with the Shepherds, Wish we lived closer so the kids (I of course mean Laurie and I) could see one another more.

The Older 2 only being 4 1/2 weeks apart still get along now that they have broken into their teen years.

The lilttlest Shepherd 'kissing up' to the camera.

Since I was litte I have loved the ocean and along with that the Light houses that  guard their shores. I can't remember how old I was when I learned about North Carolin's Outer Banks but I knew I wanted to go there. When my husband's parents retired and moved 'back home' to NC I was set on seeing them in person. These are my 2 favorite from the banks. Cape Hatteras and Bodie are both set in fields surrounded by grass land, and tower above everything. We have visited bodie on every visit, it is just so striking.
This photo was taken last summer at sunrise 545 am to be exact and I just love that my favorite things are all together. My children, The Ocean, The Sun ~ all bring me great joy and remind me that God is every where and love me too.
I really do love my kitchen - I love to hang out in there ( or here - since I type this from the desk in the kitchen), I love to cook most of the time and bake all of the time, I like to smell the coffee brewing (every morning almost) and the  chicken cooking (every night basically), I just really love my kitchen.

I joined in on the Blizzard Blog hop via household6diva Feel free to check out the nearly 200 who are linked in so far. My name is Nicole and I blog over at Be Anxious for Nothing  . I have been at this blogging thing for a few years and love the opportunity it gives me to see other women wanting to be an encouragement to those they can even via the web. I blog mostly about what matter to me,  my family and my faith. I have been married to my man for 16 + years and have 3 wonderful children.  I love the Ocean - here we are at the beautiful Outer Banks of NC. We woke the children at 525 AM to see the sunrise and none of them even complained.  I can usually be found with some form of coffee with in a few feet of me. I love sunrises and sunsets, and taking photos when the opportunity arrives. We built our first home in 2009 and this past summer I grew my first 'tiny' garden. The tomatoes were a big hit. This is the love of my life, we w...

45 & Counting

The days ahead of my birthday were filled with wonderful times, friends and reflection on my part. I'm blessed to have these handful of ladies to be doing life with right now. They challenge me in striving to lean on God, look to His Word in scripture and I'm reminded I'm loved, as well to humble myself. They all love Jesus and each adds a great JOY to my days.  I've been given a life underserved. With days of grace and mercy, He pours out on me, a love I still don't fully comprehend.  The richness of blessing that is my husband. His amazing example of love through serving. I was spoiled for days, with dinner, gifts, breakfast, more gifts, lunch, flowers, and yes more gifts. In all things, I'm full beyond words with a grateful heart.  The weekend leading up to my birthday, I had the opportunity to attend IF: Local here in Yakima.  We were given the verse:  Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their hom...
