The days are falling so closely together and I long for them to last longer. Not the cold or bitter winds but the days of being home more than not. With spring comes sports and more running and less home time. The blessing of my husband's schedule going back to days, and our marriage retreat just few weeks away.
As the 2 oldest begin to focus their sports for college purposes and try new things to broaden their wings, I try and keep a cap on it. We have maintained 1 activity at a time since they were little, this year has brought some challenges.
This year as a freshman, Andrew is participating in JROTC and doing well with it. They practice 3 times a week and have monthly meets. In the fall he did the push up squad at the football games and now that spring is upon us he has asked to play tennis for the first time. He has played soccer since 2nd grade, not hard core, but liked it so it stuck. He is wanting to expand his experiences in High school and that will all look great come college time. BTW was set on joining the military until about 2 1/2 years ago, and now pretty sure he wants to attend college, and study history and maybe even eventually teach history, Military history is very interesting to him; the process of wars and allies and stuff.
Emma, who is now 1/2 way through Jr High, is doing well in her advanced courses and still enjoying band, she loved running cross country last fall is very excited to do track and field this Spring; she has talked about javelin, and hurdles along with sprints. She has not changed her mind about college dreams for becoming a Math teacher as of now, we shall see, she is really loving her advanced reading course and this passed 2 weeks read Little Women (all 518 pages), along with her Bible reading and few Nancy Drew's for good measure.
Addysen is blossoming at school in great strides of participating and I am glad to hear it. She love to read and be read to; she is still drawing and colors anything she can get her hands on. Her spelling skills are great, even with the phonetics of two languages going on in her head. Last week she spoke a sentence in half English and the other half Spanish, she cracks me up.
I have almost finished Ann Voskamps book and could reread it next week just to make sure I did not miss something. It has been an amazing journey of watching a follower of Christ lay it all on the line to bare the wounds and deep places to others in order to help us be encouraged in Grace of everyday living and loving of the gifts He so great bestows on us.
